The foundation of a connected world, it's a network free of the limitations of the past, and flexible enough to satisfy all the social, economic and transformative needs of the changing world Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesAs part of DISH's Advanced Operations team, the Staff RAN Ops Engineer ensures the resiliency and operational integrity of the DISH Wireless network.
They troubleshoot wireless communication infrastructure for data, voice, and video services, collaborating closely with Engineering and vendor teams.
Responsibilities include analyzing service and system issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions, from configuration adjustments to procedural enhancements.
Additionally, they contribute to ongoing process improvements using KPI metrics to enhance customer experience.
In this role, you will:
Manage escalated issues from the ORAN Tier I team, resolving them and escalating to the ORAN Tier III team for urgent resolution when necessary Participate in Sev 1 & Sev 2 outage bridges and provide on-call support on a rotational basis as the technical subject matter expert Perform analysis on RU/DU/CU node health checkups, user/system-level traces, performance monitoring, fault troubleshooting, and basic parameter audits and changes Lead root cause analysis (RCA) efforts and prepare RCAs for outages/critical incidents in collaboration with engineering and other teams Engage with vendors to escalate critical or time-sensitive issues requiring their support and resolution #LI-LM1 Skills, Experience and RequirementsAs a successful Staff NOC RAN Ops Engineer, you will have:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field with at least 8 years of experience in RAN (Preference for recent Open RAN experience) Comprehensive understanding of vRAN/ORAN architecture within a virtualized environment as outlined in 3GPP standards (Release 15 & 16) Profound knowledge of LTE, VoLTE, and 5G VoNR L2/L3 call flows, coupled with the capability to interpret and analyze traces (PCAP, GNB traces) Familiarity with AWS and VMware PaaS environments is advantageous Fluent in both verbal and written English, adept at providing clear communication to senior leadership regarding status updates, issues, and roadblocks Highly organized with strong self-motivation and a goal-oriented mindset, possessing excellent people management skills and the ability to tackle challenging tasks independently Salary RangesCompensation:
$100,100.
